Álvaro Palacios

Álvaro Palacios and his nephew Ricardo Pérez set out in the mid-nineties to look for a suitable location for a new wine project in the old, but almost forgotten region of Bierzo in north-west Spain. In 1999, the first vintage of a wine was presented, which was made from 100% of the Bierzo autochthonous red grape variety Mencia.
Meanwhile, the portfolio consists of the Pétalos del Bierzo, the second wine, which manages only 4 months in French oak barrels. An amazing, brilliantly made wine that was not unjustly acclaimed by critics.
In addition to the first wine called Corullón, there are now five single-layer wines Las Lamas, San Martín, Fontelas, Moncerbal and La Faraona, which are produced in mini orders of between 500 and 2000 bottles.
The Bierzo is a region that is recommended to everyone who wants to make new and individual experiences far away from international influences with the Mencia grape.
