Catalunya

The D.O. Catalunya is a white wine paradise. The predominant indigenous grape varieties are Macabeo (called in the Rioja Viura) or Xarel-lo (also known as Cartoixà, Pansal or Pansal Blanca) and Parellada (also known as Montonenc or Montònega) produce dry, fruity white wines with moderate alcohol content. The Garnacha blanca is used to produce strong white wines with over 12% alcohol. The French Chardonnay was made here a long time ago as well as the Moscatel (or Muscat), which produces excellent sweet wines.

We have chosen Ca N'Estruc as an outstanding representative from this region, who Robert Parker awarded with 88 points in June 2005, Guia Peñin 2006 gave an excellent 87 points and 5 stars for the year 2005 for a very good price / quality ratio.
